come say hi

Most nightlife guides send you to the Old City moat or up to Nimman. This is neither. It is the old quarter on the east bank of the Ping, and it stays a working neighbourhood after dark. A ride back to the Old City takes about ten minutes.

FAQ

Questions visitors ask

Where exactly is Late Night Talking Music Bar?

332 Charoen Mueang Road, Wat Ket, Mueang Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai 50000, Thailand. It sits in San Pa Khoi, the old quarter on the east bank of the Ping river, about 2 km from Tha Phae Gate, or roughly ten minutes by car from the Old City. Chiang Mai railway station is a short walk away.

Is there a cover charge?

No. Entry is free every night of the week, including weekends and nights with a full band line-up. You only pay for what you order.

What time does the live music start?

The first band goes on around 20:00. There are three sets a night, with different acts, running until close to midnight. Arrive by 20:00 to catch all three.

Do I need to book a table?

Not on weeknights; walking in is normal. Friday and Saturday fill up, so message ahead on LINE if you are a group or want a specific spot. Booking is free.

What kind of music do you play?

Pop, Rock, Acoustic and Indie, played live by rotating bands. The line-up changes every night of the week, so no two visits sound the same.

Which floor should I sit on?

Downstairs puts you near the stage, where the sound is fullest and the room sings along. Upstairs is quieter and still overlooks the stage, better if you came to talk. Both are open every night; pick when you arrive.
